The Bigfork High School boys' basketball team had Troy's number this summer.

The Vikes beat Troy three times during four summer tournaments, the last Bigfork victory coming July 13-15 in Whitefish.

"We finished on a good note," Bigfork coach Jim Epperly said. The Vikings lost to Whitefish and Kalispell before beating Troy in Whitefish. Bigfork also lost to Havre and Glacier High School.

Bigfork's other wins during the summer came against Missoula Hellgate junior varsity and Stevensville to give the Vikes a 5-17 summer record. The Vikes played in Libby, at the Griz Camp, Ronan and Whitefish.

"We haven't had everybody this summer," Epperly said of the team. He said there were 10-12 players, mostly upperclassmen who played throughout the summer.

Epperly said he was impressed with junior Brock Boll's play as well as sophomore Keenan Evans'.

"They both worked really hard," Epperly said. "Garrett Pewe played pretty well. Levi Dockstader, Jake Milner and Donny Tudahl were pretty much hardcore guys."
