Ski team grateful

| March 1, 2007 11:00 PM

The local members of the U.S. National Telemark Team would like to thank our community for its continued support. Nine of the 17 members of the team live here in the Flathead Valley and train on Big Mountain.

Recently a fund-raiser was held at the Great Northern Bar to raise money for the team to travel to the U.S. National Championships in Steamboat, Colo., and for many of the team members to travel to Germany for World Cup finals and then on to Thyon, Switzerland, for the World Championships.

We owe a special thank you to Dr. David Sobba, Dow Powell and the Big Mountain for their financial support of our training this season. In addition, Dr. Sobba, Northern Physical Therapy and FLIP Chiropractic have worked with our team members for many years, helping us stay in peak condition, or helping us return to racing condition when needed.

We wish to thank the following individuals and businesses for their support of our fund-raiser: The Great Northern Bar, Big Sky Brewing, 3 Point Hitch for the music, Tom Healy as the MC, The White Room, Schellinger Construction, Outback Ski Shack, Sportsman Ski Haus, Valhalla, Northern Physical Therapy, Steve Hill, Glacier Raft Co, Kristine and Andy Anderson, The Toggery, Glacier Wilderness Guides, FLIP Chiropractic, Loula's, Hidden Moose Lodge, Peak Orthopedics, Pollo Grill, Bechler Group LLC, Dave Elliott and Piste Mountain Gear, Jeannine Poucel, An Salon, Mark Bridges, Cody McCarthy, Buffalo Cafe, Coffee Traders, Tupelo Grille, City Brew, Whitefish Lake Restaurant, Montana Tom's and Stumptown Anglers. Our apologies if we inadvertently left anyone off our list.

Thank you to the individuals who attend the fund-raiser and participated in the raffle and silent auction. The event was a great success, thanks to your participation.

For more information about the team, or if you would like to make a contribution, please contact Linda Hobbs at 862-3303.

Watch for our results in March, as we race against the best in the U.S. and then the best in the world.
