Craft, bake sale

The Columbia Falls Women’s Connection hosts a craft, baked goods and home canned goods sale on Saturday, Oct. 6 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the North Valley Community Room on Nucleus Avenue. Homemade soups and bread are $2.50 and pie is $1.50 a slice. There will also be hot coffee.

All proceeds from the sale go to support the Connection’s annual missionary project.

Gallery event

Hawk Creek Gallery will host an open house on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6 and 7 to feature the unique artwork of Peter Moore. The Gallery is located six miles north of Polebridge and 1.2 miles west on Red Meadow Road.

NF Land Use

The next meeting of the North Fork Land Use Advisory Committee will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. at Sondreson Hall (Whale Creek and the North Fork Road).

There will be a discussion by committee members of the Draft Neighborhood Plan.

This meeting will be followed by the last business meeting of the year for the North Fork Landowners’ Association at 8 p.m.

Chamber meets

The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its October membership meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 9 in the North Valley Hospital Community Room at 235 Nucleus Ave. The luncheon meeting is from noon to 1 p.m. and the cost is $9. Lunch will be catered by Ray Negron of Cimmaron Cafe and Catering.

Jim Lehner, director of community affairs at Plum Creek, will be the guest speaker. Chamber members as well as non-members are welcome. No reservations are necessary.

Columbians Jazz Band garage sale Oct. 13

The Columbians Jazz Band will have its annual garage sale and fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Columbia Falls High School cafeteria.

Quilting course

Salena Beckwith will be conducting a quilting course, sponsored by the Columbia Falls Adult Education Program. This six-week course begins on Tuesday, Oct. 16 and runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Columbia Falls High School. The course fee is $30, which allows use of the sewing machines.

Guitar lessons

Learn to Play Guitar for 10- to 14-year-olds starts on Oct. 4 at North Valley Music School and runs for eight weeks on Thursdays from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuition is $80 and guitar rentals are available at $10 for the session.

On Oct. 5 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., NVMS is offering a Guitar Set-up class for all ages of students to learn how to set up and maintain their own electric or acoustic guitar. There is a $25 supply cost or the student can provide their own. Tuition is $15.

Boy Scout sale

On Sept. 29, Montana Boy Scouts kicked off their annual popcorn sale. As one of the organization’s most popular fund-raisers, the popcorn sales support local Scouts’ activities throughout the year.

Montana Boy Scouts will be selling Trail’s End Popcorn, which was the first microwave popcorn producer to eliminate the flavoring ingredient diacetyl. In fact, none of the Trail’s End products sold by Montana Scouts have any diacetyl flavoring.

Yoga classes

Imagine Health at 305 First Ave. W. in Columbia Falls is starting new yoga classes. Here is the schedule and the weekly cost: Monday lunch, 12:10 to 12:45 p.m., $6; Tuesday afternoon, 4 to 5:15 p.m., $9; and Wednesday morning prenatal, 9 to 10:15 a.m., $8.

The current schedule of classes, each with a weekly cost of $9: Wednesday evening, 5:45 to 7:15 p.m.; Thursday evening, 5:45 to 7:15 p.m.; and Friday morning, 8:15 to 9:30 a.m.

Beginning this week, come share your lunch at Imagine Health and view a 24-minute film, “My Backyard Was A Mountain.” You are invited to stay after the movie and visit.
