School blessed

| October 4, 2007 11:00 PM

Olney-Bissell School has been blessed. During this past year, our school has received funding from many outside sources, both private and commercial, that have greatly improved the quality of education and life here at our school.

For the first time since the beginning of both our schools, we have a hot lunch program. The students, parents and staff love it.

To know and appreciate all of the benefits of this program, you would need to visit our school and talk to the students.

A grant from Mark and Patricia Kvamme enabled us to remodel our old kitchen and purchase the supplies and equipment needed to fulfill this long time goal and dream.

If you walk into our school, you will also see new state-of-the-art technology in every classroom being used on a daily basis. This technology includes SmartBoards, mobile laptop sets and other various kinds of hardware.

Needless to say again, the students and staff love it. This technology has greatly affected and improved classroom instruction and student attitudes toward learning.

A grant from Mark Kvamme and The Homestead at Whitefish LLC supplied the funding for the technology listed above.

Our school also benefited this past year with grants from The Whitefish Community Foundation, Town Pump, Wal-Mart, Plum Creek, Western Dairy Council and Lincoln Electric Cooperative.

We are very thankful to the individuals, businesses and foundations that support education with grants and funding. Let's take a moment to appreciate the good that has come into our community as a result of these generous contributors.
