Anna Mae Anderson

Anna Mae Anderson, 69, died peacefully Oct. 6, 2007, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease while surrounded by family at her home in Auburn, Wash.

Anna Mae was born in Bozeman, the daughter of George Willis Brenden and Ramona McKean. She attended school at Bozeman State College, graduating with advanced honors in 1959. She also was awarded a Fulbright scholarship.

On March 20, 1959, she married R. Martin Anderson in Bozeman. Together they raised three children in Billings.

Anna Mae always had a keen eye for beauty, and she enjoyed collecting natural and antique treasures from wherever she hiked or traveled. From nature, she collected mineral specimens and fossils, as well as artwork depicting nature’s splendor.

From history, she collected Asian and European antiques and Native American artifacts. She owned and operated Horseshoe Antiques in Billings and performed antique appraisals for 22 years. She retired to Auburn to be close to family.

Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include daughter Lori Healy and husband Rob and their sons Robby and Kenny, of Kent, Wash.; daughter Joan Anderson, of Pullman, Wash.; and son Ross Anderson and wife Sandy and their children Carly, Martin, Bradlee and Claire, of Whitefish.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at Anna Mae’s home in Auburn.
