Dawn Alsup
Dawn Marie Alsup, 49, of Belgrade, passed away April 9, 2008. She was born Sept. 30, 1958, in Romeo, Mich., to David V. and Elizabeth M. (Weber) Weldele.
In 1960, the family moved to Billings and then in 1963 to Whitefish, where Dawn attended elementary and high school, graduating in 1976. She moved to Manhattan that same year and lived in the Gallatin Valley ever since.
On Aug. 2, 1986, she married Gary Alsup, her soul mate and partner in life. Together, they operated the Hyalite Dental Lab.
Their hobbies included camping and visiting ghost towns. She had an extensive collection of books on Montana history and was a great source of information. Her other hobbies were sewing, quilting and soap-making. Family members and friends were always grateful recipients of her handiwork.
She also took great pride in her flower garden, yard decorations and the miniature copies of buildings from various ghost towns that she built and decorated. Dawn and Gary's pets were always at the center of their activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Angela. She also leaves behind Jasper, her beloved canine companion of 12 years.
Dawn is survived by her husband Gary at their home in Belgrade; brothers David and wife Judy, Darryl and wife Cindy, Mitch and wife Janna, and Dan and wife Nancy; a sister, Denise; and numerous nieces and nephews.
