Halpin and Uibel win Whitefish Lake Triathlon

A record number of 128 competitors entered the 10th annual Whitefish Lake Triathlon on Sunday, Aug. 17.
Starting at Whitefish City Beach, the sprint-style triathlon consisted of a half-mile swim, a 20-kilometer bike and a five-kilometer run.
"It just grows every year," organizor Stan Watkins said. "The Whitefish police and fire department did a great job of helping with traffic."
Kayleen Uibel was the overall winner for the women, with a time of 1:10:00. Brendan Halpin was the overall winner for the men, with a time of 1:03:35. "TM" was the top team with a time of 1:02:10.
