Member/guest tourney slated for this weekend

The very popular member/guest tournament will be held Saturday and Sunday with the first day on the South Course followed by the North on Sunday.

The two-person teams will play a net best-ball the first day and a modified-Stapleford the second day.

There will be a derby after the first day of play.

Uncanny hole-in-onesLast Thursday afternoon while playing the South Course, Jerry Thorson aced hole number 15 on the South Course.

Not to be outdone, Jerry's father-in-law, Bob Bennett, aced hole number 16 of the South Course.

The odds of this happening have to be astronomical. The pair was playing in the weekly derby on men's day, and several players in the group witnessed the event.

Couples eventThe next couple's event will take place Sunday, Aug. 31, with a noon starting time.

As these events fill quickly, it's imperative that registrations be completed as soon as possible.

Rules of the gameDropping from a cart path is always an interesting situation.

The drop must be on the side of the cart path that causes the ball to move the least distance. This includes the player taking a stance and then dropping the ball.
