Using natural resources responsibly

As a candidate for the Montana Senate, I pledge my business experience and economic knowledge to work towards a strong, vibrant Montana economy. It is wrong that many of Montana's young must leave the state to find high-paying jobs and a future.

The road to a better Montana economy is not one "silver bullet" but a thousand meaningful changes. Montana must have tax policies that promote job growth in industries that are high-paying. We must work to use our natural beauty, natural resources and diverse energy resources to promote high-paying jobs for all Montanans.

Wyoming and Alaska have expanding economies and job growth because they responsibly use their natural resources.

We must manage and harvest our timber resources; it is foolish to let our forests burn, polluting our air, rivers and lakes. After the timber burns, we wonder why we don't have money to pave the roads in Flathead County.

I'm a third-generation Flathead resident. I, like my parents and grandparents, lead by example. We use Montana soil, water and air to produce food for the world. Our farm today produces four times the food per acre than when my grandfather farmed in the 1920s, while better co-existing with nature.

I have witnessed the return of sand cranes, bald eagles, fox, pheasants, elk and many kinds of ducks and geese to our farm. Montana can responsibly use her natural resources and still leave this a better place for our children.

As a team, we can set an agenda for fiscal responsibility, individual rights and a strong Montana economy. I am a fiscal conservative in the Ronald Reagan tradition who was recently endorsed by the NRA. I am dedicated to fighting for these rights.

We have the best and brightest kids. Let's work together to make opportunities for them, right here in Montana.
