Great neighbors

Why do I love living here? It's because we have great neighbors.
On Monday, I returned home from a weekend in Missoula. In my mailbox was a note from a neighbor, a veteran, asking me to retire my American flag.
The flag had been flying continuously since 9/11, so it was getting tattered. My neighbor included a brand new American flag to fly in place of the tattered one.
I promptly replaced the old flag with the gifted flag. Both my son and father are Marines, and I would never want to dishonor Old Glory.
Thank you for being a thoughtful, kind and generous neighbor. Thank you for your service to America. I only wish you had signed the note you left so I could thank you with some cookies.
