| August 20, 2009 11:00 PM

Martha May Buzzell, 97, entered into rest on Aug. 15, 2009, and this earth lost a very special soul. Martha was born April 20, 1912, in Cottonwood, north of Havre, to William and Cora Staples. She married Curtis Jay Buzzell, March 28, 1931.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Keith and Arthur. She is survived by daughters Luann Copeland of Helena and Joyce Jensen (Ralph) of Valley, Wash.; daughter-in-law Carol Buzzell of Kalispell; and sons Bill Buzzell of Big Sky and DeWayne Buzzell (Janice) of Spokane, Wash. She had 17 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

Martha was raised on the family homestead and managed a hotel in Glasgow. She later moved to Coram where she owned grocery stores, worked in the post office and worked as a cook. Martha was active in the development of the Coram Water Department, and was a member of the Coram Community Church and Ladies Aid. She enjoyed gardening and her dog, Skippy.

Martha enjoyed seeing the ocean and Disneyland with some of her grandchildren.

A special thanks to the staff of Wel-Live Assisted Living of Kalispell and to Barbara Glass, her first grandchild who was always there to take care of her and be her friend.

Services will be Saturday, Aug. 22 at 2 p.m. at Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls. Columbia Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Call the mortuary for time of visitation.
