Holiday thanks

| December 10, 2009 11:00 PM

On Sunday, Nov. 22, the city of Whitefish was decorated for the Christmas season by an enthusiastic group of volunteer-citizens, Whitefish High School honor students, local business people and four Flathead Electric Cooperative bucket truck operators, along with Terry Conat's bucket truck and the city's bucket truck.

Thanks to all of you who make Whitefish a special place to live and visit during the holidays.

And thanks to the Great Northern Bar and Grille for the great warm up and lunch after the work was finished.

Great theater

I feel compelled to spread the publicity of the "Wizard of Oz" to those who have not yet attended this production by the Whitefish Theatre Company.

It's a wonderful story, most magnificently done by the actors. As I recall the movie, which I dearly loved at a young age, it actually outshines it. The costumes are absolutely beautiful — kudos to Lonnie Porro and crew who helped make them.

The directors, Jesse Culp and musical director April Vogel, put together a wonderful story, enhanced by conductor and pianist Karla West, along with pianist Stephan Fairweather.

Congratulations to all those participating in bringing another super play by the Whitefish Theatre Company to the community.
