Hazel Marie (Irvin) Edgington Ledford, 94

Hazel Marie (Irvin) Edgington Ledford, 94, passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at the home of her son near Yellow Bay, in Montana. She was born on June 8, 1914 in Blanchester, Ohio the daughter of Ralph Harvey and Mary Frances (Shields) Irvin.

Hazel was a longtime resident of Blanchester, Ohio and married Dwight Moody Edgington on June 6, 1934 in Blanchester. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Blanchester. She was later married to David Jonathan Ledford on January 5, 1952 in Blanchester.

Hazel was preceded in death by her 2 husbands, one brother, four sisters, and a daughter Kay Monjar. She is survived by her son: Kenen M. Edgington (Peggy) of Bigfork, MT; and a daughter: Dava L. Biehl of Cincinnati, OH; her son in law, Russell Monjar of Loveland, OH; 4 grandchildren, Lori Brock (Pat) of Hillsboro, OH; Nick (Jami) Edgington of Amelia, OH; Todd Edgington (Amanda) of Wenatchee, WA and Brandon Biehl of Westerville, OH;      5 great grandchildren, Grant and Merrill Edgington of Amelia, OH; Brittany Brock (Tommy Stroud) of Wilmington, OH; Sarah and Hannah Brock of Hillsboro, OH and one great great grandchild, Stormie Stroud of Wilmington, OH.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

Karl George Danberg, 84

Born in Oakland California, George was the youngest of two children and first generation American, born to Karl Fredrik Danberg and Thyra Storm, who immigrated from Sweden in 1922 with their daughter/his sister Inga Margaret. George spent his youth growing up in Oakland. In the late 40’s and early 50’s he raced open wheel roadsters at Oakland Speedway, Stockton Speedway as well as in Oregon and Washington under the name of George Hubbard, so as not to worry his Mom. George met the love of his life Gloria Hannah in 1945. They married in February 1949 and had a lasting love affair for over 59 years. They moved to Walnut Creek California in 1957 where George became a 25 year veteran of the Orinda Fire Department as Captain and acting Battalion Chief. He was an avid golfer along with his wife and they enjoyed spending their time together and golfing at Contra Costa Golf Club. George was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and a loyal friend to many. He was a humble man who touched many lives with his sense of humor. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. George was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his passing. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Gloria, his mother Thyra, farther Karl and sister, Margaret. He is survived by daughter Susan (and husband Keith Laverty) of Bigfork. Daughter Karen Danberg of Concord, CA and son David and his wife Teresea Danberg of Oakley, CA. He is the loving grandfather of Jamie, Michael, and Rachael and the proud great grandfather of Alexa Hodge. “May God bless and keep you always, May your wishes all come true, May you always do for others and let others do for you, May you build a ladder to the stars, and climb on every rung, and may you stay forever young . . .”
