Columbia Falls teams prepare for NW A Divisional Basketball Tournament
Columbia Falls varsity girls and boys basketball teams closed out the regular season by sweeping Ronan on Saturday at CFHS. The Wildkat girls have the top seed in this week’s Northwestern A Divisional Basketball Tournament in Kalispell while the Wildcat boys are seeded fourth.
Grant Getts sank two free throws in the final seconds as the Wildcats rallied for a 51-50 victory over the Chiefs. Mackey Nolan hit a 3-pointer to get CFHS within one point before Getts’ foul shots. Nolan led the Wildcats with 18 points, and Getts added 15.
Kayla DeWit, Kelsey DeWit and Alyssa Ladenburg combined for 47 points as the Wildkats breezed by winless Ronan 67-23. CFHS led 41-15 at halftime. Kayla DeWit netted 22 points, Kelsey DeWit had 15 and Ladenburg 10.
The Wildkats have the No. 1 seed at the Divisional Tournament and a first-round bye. They face the Polson-Whitefish winner in the semifinals at 6 p.m. Friday at Glacier High School.
In the boys bracket, No. 4 Columbia Falls plays No. 5 Ronan at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glacier High. The winner takes on top-seeded Whitefish at 2 p.m. Friday at GHS.

Thursday, Feb. 26 — 2 p.m., Columbia Falls (4) vs. Ronan (5); 4 p.m., Polson (3) vs. Bigfork (6).
Friday, Feb. 27 — 2 p.m., Whitefish (1) vs. CFHS-Ronan winner; 4 p.m., Libby (2) vs. Polson-Bigfork winner.
GIRLS
Thursday, Feb. 26 — 6 p.m., Polson (4) vs. Whitefish (5); 8 p.m., Bigfork (3) vs. Ronan (6).
Friday, Feb. 27 — 6 p.m., Columbia Falls (1) vs. Polson-Whitefish winner; 8 p.m., Libby (2) vs. Bigfork-Ronan winner.
