Snowskate jam

This year’s Yeti Snowskate Jam held during Winter Carnival was the fifth year of the event and the most successful yet. This event is planned for kids by kids and had 44 contestants this year.

Without the support of the businesses and families in Whitefish, we would not have been able to host such a great event. Special thanks to the Winter Carnival Committee, Whitefish Parks and Recreation, the Whitefish Pilot and the Chamber of Commerce for working closely with us this year.

The following people gave of their time and energy to put the event together: Jimmy Deats, Bjorn Ryan-Gorman, Alex Adams, Matt Holloway, Jade Larson, Paul Coats, David Hobbs, Rick and Lori Adams, Russ and Linda Hobbs, Sara Parr, Mary and Kevin Witbrod, and Dusty and Eric Hosek.

The following business provided us with cash and products: Glacier Bank of Whitefish, Stumptown Snowboards, Imagination Station, Midway Rental, Spirit Skate Shop, Flathead Fish and Seafood, Whitefish Goldsmiths, Third Street Market, Sportsman and Ski Haus, Ambition Snowskates, Premier Snowskates, Celebrate Party Rentals, North Valley Portables, Quickee Sandwich Shop, Stageline Pizza, Montana Coffee Traders, Northwind Shirt Co., Whitefish Mountain Resort, Tupelo Grille, Wrap and Roll, Bean Hive, Crystal Winters, Pescado Blanco, Plum Creek and Nelson’s Hardware.

These businesses and volunteers are one of the things that make Whitefish such a special place to live. They give and give to our community even in these difficult economic times and we couldn’t have done it without them. Now, more than ever, we need to shop locally and support these businesses.
