Biz After Hours at Belton Chalet Jan. 15

Belton Chalet and Lodge is hosting a Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours social on Thursday, Jan. 15. The social is from 5  to 7 p.m.

Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be available, and there will be live entertainment.

A history talk and lodge tour will also be featured.

Pachyderm meets Jan. 16

The weekly Glacier Country Pachyderm meeting will be held Friday, Jan. 16 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Fireside Room at the Kalispell Red Lion.

This week’s speaker will be Marcia Sheffels, District 5 Superintendent of Schools. The meeting is open to the public.

Fundraiser for Kavin Morsette Jan. 17

A spaghetti feed and live auction fundraiser to help with the medical expenses of Kavin Morsette will be held Saturday, Jan. 17 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Bandit Bar on Nucleus Avenue. Music by the A Street Band begins at 9 p.m.

Cost is $5 for the meal and admission to the band performance, or $3 for just the band.

Morsette, who is president of the Rocky Mountain Street Machines Car Club, is fighting acute pancreatitis and will have major surgery Jan. 27 in Spokane to remove a cyst on his pancreas.

Democrat Women to meet Jan. 19

The regular monthly meeting of the Flathead County Democratic Women will be held on Monday, Jan. 19 at 11:45 a.m. in the Winchester Room of the Outlaw Hotel.

In support of the National Day of Service members are asked to donate used books for Friends of the Library and non-perishable food items for the Kalispell Food Bank.

Karen Richardson will present the program, “Dynamics of the Senior Population in Montana.”

Luncheon costs range from $5 to $10. No reservations are required and all are welcome to attend.

Financial aid workshop Jan. 20

Columbia Falls High School counselors Terry Guidi, Kristi Arnold and Doug Cordier, in cooperation with Flathead Valley Community College Office of Financial Aid, are hosting a workshop aimed at assisting high school seniors and their parents with completing their application for federal student aid, known as “FAFSA.” The workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. in the CFHS writing lab.

Econ development meeting Jan. 20

The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce holds its monthly economic development meeting Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 7 a.m. at the Nite Owl Restaurant.

Chamber members are urged to attend the meeting.

Toastmasters open house Jan.22

Columbia Falls Speaks, the local Toastmasters club, hosts an open house at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 22 at the Columbia Falls City Hall Council Chambers.

Try Toastmasters and improve your communication skills.  Become a confident speaker and organize effective meetings.

Raise the Roof social Jan. 26

The Flathead Building Association will hold a Raise the Roof public social Tuesday, Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. The host will be Anderson’s Masonry, Hearth and Home, located at 16 Woodland Ave. in Kalispell, across the street from the Conrad Complex fields.

Stamp Club meets Feb. 2

The Glacier Stamp Club meets Monday, Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. at the Kalispell Library downstairs meeting room. A silent auction will be held following the business meeting. Sale items will be available for bidding at 7 p.m.

Duck Lake site of fish derby Feb. 7-8

The annual Fishing Derby at Duck Lake in northern Montana, sponsored by the Babb/St. Mary Volunteer Fire Department, is set for Feb. 7-8. Details, prize amounts and regulations will be announced after the Jan. 13 fire department meeting.
