Michael Eve

Michael John Eve, 49, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Michael was born Aug. 13, 1959, in Great Falls to Jean F. and Mary Ellen (Conover) Eve.

He graduated from the University of Montana. He married Valarie Peres at Ryan Dam on the Missouri River near Great Falls in 1997.

Michael had worked as chief financial director and assistant city manager for the city of Whitefish. He was president of the Montana Institute of Municipal Clerks and served on the board of directors for the Flathead County Solid Waste District. He was named 2008 Government Worker of the Year by the Whitefish Chamber of Commerce.

Michael was a member of the Rotary Club and was active with his son in hockey, baseball and soccer. He enjoyed skiing and snowboarding with his son Dylan, spending time at the family cabin and living life to its fullest with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Valarie Eve, of Whitefish; parents Jean and Mary Ellen Eve, of Great Falls; sons Dylan Eve, of Whitefish, and Brandon Jaraczeski and wife Rhonda, of Great Falls; parents-in-law Fred and Jean Peres, of Tucson, Ariz.; brothers Joe, Jon and Tim Eve; sisters Cindy and Sue Eve; grandchildren Rylee and Jersey Jaraczeski; nephews Grant, Jacques, Dustin, Kris, Bridger, Dustin, Drake, Hunter and Josh; nieces Teresa, Katie, Josi, Miranda, Lacy, Shea, Shelby, Kalee, Spencer and Amy; god daughters Shea and little Lorena; and literally hundreds of cousins aunts and uncles.

A Rosary service was held Jan. 20, 2009, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Whitefish with a wake following at Sherwoods Bar and Grille in Whitefish. Memorial Mass was said Jan. 21, 2009, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church.

The family has requested memorial contributions be made to an account at Park Side Federal Credit Union for Dylan Eve’s college educational fund.
