The Columbia Falls Lions Club meets at 6:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays each month at the Back Room, in the same building as the Nite Owl Restaurant. Contact a Lions Club member for information about joining the organization.

The Columbia Falls Lions Club Summer Concert Series continues this evening (Thursday) at the Don Lawrence Amphitheater in Marantette Park. Music begins at 8 p.m. Performing will be the Nutcracker Trio of guitar, bass and drums. Penni Chisholm and David Merkel will be featured on the keyboards. Donations of $3 per person or $5 per family are appreciated. In the amphitheater for the July 16 concert will be Off the Record, On the Sly and the Bavarian Echoes.

Farmer’s Market in Columbia Falls continues today (Thursday) at Glacier Discovery Square in Columbia Falls. Hours are 5 to 7:30 p.m. More than 60 vendors will offer produce, arts and crafts and lots of tasty food. Jay DiPaola performs on the Main Stage. DiPaola is a passionate and often hilarious, one-of-a-kind Montana songwriter and steel-string solo artist. Kelly West will be featured on the North Stage. Glacier Bank is the sponsor of this week’s market.

Mary Zastrow of Helena will speak about birds at the Columbia Falls Women’s Connection luncheon Wednesday, July 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the North Valley Hospital Community Center. Cost of the luncheon is $8. Those attending are asked to bring diapers or baby clothing to be donated to the Hope Pregnancy Center in Kalispell.
