More than 450 competitors, 350 volunteers and 15,000 spectators will converge on The Event at Rebecca Farm on July 23-26, for the only HSBC-Federation Equestre Internationale World Cup Qualifying Event in the nation and one of nine in the world. Flathead Audubon will lead a moderately strenuous hike to Piegan Pass in Glacier National Park on Saturday, July 25. High-country birds such as the boreal chickadee, white-tailed ptarmigan, American pipit and gray-crowned rosy finch may be found. The Yaak Wilderness Festival will take place at Roosevelt Park, in Troy, on Saturday, July 25, with the gates opening at 3 p.m. Live music will be provided by Sol Jibe and the Alan Lane Band from 5-10 p.m. There will be food and craft vendors, kids activities and camping. A fundraiser will be held for Leanna “Rae” Datema on the deck at the Great Northern Bar on Sunday, July 26, beginning at 2 p.m. with an auction, silent auction and raffles. Datema, who has three daughters, has been diagnosed with Crohn’s disease. There is no cure for this debilitating disease. The Glacier Symphony and Chorale will present Festival Amadeus — six days and nights of music and events in Whitefish from July 27 through Aug. 1. Nicknamed “Mozart in the mountains,” the event features guest artists, two string quartets, chamber concerts, the Festival Amadeus Orchestra, festival boutique wine and an evening with the artists. Festival passes are $110 adults, $90 seniors and $60 youths. The July 27 opening reception is $45 or $25 with a festival pass. Single tickets are also available. The Whitefish Downtown Farmers Market will showcase North Valley Music School at Depot Park at the north end of Central Avenue on Tuesday, July 28, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The market is held every Tuesday evening until the end of September. For more information, call 862-2043.

The Bibler home and gardens summer tours is scheduled for July 28-31 beginning with a reception on July 27, from 6 to 8 p.m., featuring wine and light hors d’oeuvres. Flathead Valley Community College art instructor John Rawlings will provide an exclusive tour showcasing the collection of fine art. Tickets are $50 adults 21-and-over and $90 couples and must be purchased in advance. Tours of the gardens and the home’s collection of antiques, sculptures and heirloom Persian carpets will be 1 1/2 hours long and take place July 27-31.
