Mark Parratt will sign copies of his new book “Fate Is A Mountain” at Montana House in Glacier National Park’s Apgar Village on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 5 p.m. with a reception from 5-6 p.m. “Fate is a Mountain” is a book of true stories of one family’s rare experiences living, working and exploring in the Park during the 1950s and 1960s. Sunday

The third annual Foy’s to Herron Paddlethon race will take place on Sunday, Aug. 2, starting at Foy’s Lake. The race is a unique triathlon featuring a 3-mile canoe or kayak on Foy’s Lake, a 5-mile mountain bike in Herron Park, and finishing with a 4-mile trail run. The race is a fundraiser for the Foys To Blacktail trails group. Registration will start at 7:30 a.m. and the race will start at 9 a.m. Entry fee is $15 individuals, $28 teams of two, or $36 teams of three. The Glacier Stamp Club will meet Monday, Aug. 3, at 6:30 p.m. at the Kalispell Library downstairs meeting room. A silent auction will be held following a short business meeting. Members, visitors and friends are welcome to bring auction items. For more information, call Gail at 752-6110.

The Whitefish Downtown Farmers Market will feature singer/songwriter guitarist Tim Torgerson on Tuesday, Aug. 4. He is sponsored by River Design Group and Dan Weinberg.
