Dustin (Dusty) Drown, 25
Dustin (Dusty) Drown, 25, passed away on Friday, June19, 2009 following an accident in Manhattan, MT. He was born in Kalispell Montana on September 20, 1983 to Frank Drown and Denise (Potts' Belt. Dusty attended Swan River School until 1994 when he and his family moved to Manhattan Montana where he then attended the Manhattan schools. In 1999 they returned to Bigfork and attended Bigfork High until his senior year when he returned to Manhattan and graduated in 2002. Dusty was employed with Montana Furniture at the time of his death. Prior he also worked at the "Oasis", "The Depo" and Big Sky Carvers in Manhattan.
Dusty was loved by everyone who he came into contact with and he returned that love to all his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, snowboarding, gopher hunting, camping and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed life and having fun and always had a smile on his face.
Dusty is survived by his father, Frank Drown and Rika Mogolis of Bigfork; mother, Denise Belt and stepfather, Kipp Belt of Bigfork; two sisters, Darcy Drown of Manhattan, MT and Kristen Drown of Dillon, MT; grandparents, Douglas & Dorothy Potts of Bigfork, step-grandparents, Ron & Connie Belt of Bigfork and great grandma Price of Ohio, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Stanley & Lula Potts of Bigfork and grandparents Glenn & Vida Drown of Kalispell and a sister, Amanda Drown at birth.
"We know we will see you again, until that time we are going to miss you and may God hold you in his Loving arms. We Love You." May his passing bring fond memories and a smile to the hearts of anyone that knew him.
A memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, June 27th, at the Gallatin Valley Baptist Fellowship (The old Trailer Sales' in Manhattan.
A memorial service will also be held in Bigfork at 2 p.m. July 3 at the "Crossroads" in Bigfork. Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service. www.dokkennelson.com.
Madeline A. Dorobon, 84
Madeline A. Dorobon age 84, passed away Sunday June 21, 2009 at her home in Polson, MT. She is survived by her four children; Carole Rannie of Polson; Marty Zajanc of Polson, MT; Steve Zajanc of Bigfork, MT; and Joe Zajanc of Ressda, CA. No services are planned for Madeline. Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and Crematory caring for the family.
Mary Jean Farris, 86
Mary Jean Farris went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2008 surrounded by her beloved family at Lake View Care Center in Bigfork, Montana. She was born in Corvallis, Oregon on June 27, 1922 to Oregon pioneer descendants Vaughn and Mabel Youngblood. She grew up in Seattle, Washington and attended the University of Washington. She was a serious musician, having studied voice for many years. During World War II she donated many hours to entertaining wounded service men in hospitals. Her beautiful soprano voice was a gift she shared at church and with many others. She had a loving heart and generous spirit, her cup was always half full.
She married Walter Farris on October 14, 1946 and they lived in Spokane, Washington for many years. In 1973, they bought the Swan Village Market in Swan Lake, Montana. After her beloved husband's death in 1991, she relocated to Bigfork where she belonged to the Bigfork Pottery Club, the Bridge Club, and the Gardening Group. Her love of gardening made every place she lived more beautiful than she found it. She was an inveterate reader and spent many happy hours with books. Her passion for gardening, reading, and music lives on in her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her brother Tom Youngblood, and her granddaughter Abigail Bergmann. She is survived by her sister Bette Angell of Bainbridge Island, WA, her children Robin Dewhirst (Tim), Forest Farris (Tammy), Helen Bergmann (Richard), and Bette Miller (Gale), 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. We will miss you Grandma! A memorial service will be held on June 29th, 2009 at the Swan River Hall on Hwy 83 at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow.
