'Hungry Eyes' singer jailed for Ohio drunken drive
BEDFORD, Ohio - The singer of the 1980s love song "Hungry Eyes" has pleaded no contest to drunken driving and failing to control his car and has been sentenced to a month in an Ohio jail.
A Bedford Municipal Court judge on Wednesday ordered Eric Carmen to report to jail April 25.
Carmen was the lead singer of the Raspberries, a 1970s pop band that scored its biggest hit with "Go All the Way." He's also had a productive solo career, releasing "All by Myself" in 1975 and "Hungry Eyes" for the 1987 "Dirty Dancing" movie soundtrack.
Carmen lives in the Cleveland suburb Gates Mills. He was arrested Sept. 9 after crashing into a fire hydrant.
Police say his blood-alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit.
