Coco and Roche take firsts at Polson meet

The Whitefish boys took third and the girls took fourth place at the Polson ABC track meet on Saturday.

Defending state champion Drew Coco won the 1,600-meter run and placed second in the 800. Willie Roche took first in the long jump and fourth in the 400-meter race.

The boys had a strong showing in the 400-meter race, with three Bulldogs placing in the top-six.

Anto Daoud took second. Two Bulldogs placed in the triple jump — Aaron Tkachyk, third, and Kalin Hale, fifth.

The Wiley twins continued to run well in the hurdles. Seth Wiley took second in the 300-meter hurdles and fourth in the 110-meter race.

His brother Sam Wiley placed fifth in the 300-meter. Derek Crittenden was right behind Seth in the 110-meter, taking fifth.

Two Bulldogs placed in the top-six in javelin — Dustin Beck, second, and Alex Elespuru, sixth.

For the girls, Loni Hanson placed second in the 3,200 meter race. Amanda Foley took third in the 100-meter dash and sixth in the 200-meter.

Torrie Powell took second in the triple jump and fifth in the javelin. Ariel Ducote took fifth in both hurdles races, and the Lady Bulldogs' 400-meter relay team placed third.

Next up is the Divisional Track Tournament to be held Friday and Saturday, May 22 and 23, in Polson.
