The Columbia Falls Lions Club meets at 6:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays each month at the Back Room, in the same building as the Nite Owl Restaurant. Contact a Lions Club member for information about joining the organization.
Terry DeGroot will lead a North Valley Music School recital at Glacier Discovery Square in Columbia Falls today, May 28 at 7 p.m. The recital will include piano, voice and string numbers performed by students ranging in age from 6 to adult. There is no admission charge and everyone is invited to attend.
Columbia Falls Community Kitchen will be serving free, delicious meals the last four days of this month. The meals are served Thursday, May 28 through Sunday, May 31 at 6 p.m. in the basement of St. Richard’s Catholic Church. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the meals in a warm, friendly atmosphere.

A multi-family yard sale is set for Friday and Saturday, May 29-30 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, located at 640 Seventh St. W. in Columbia Falls. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to noon Saturday. All proceeds benefit church pre-school scholarships. Flathead Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans will match the first $500 taken in during the fundraiser.

A Relay for Life multi-team garage sale is set for Saturday, May 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the North Valley Hospital Community Center, 235 Nucleus Ave. in Columbia Falls. Proceeds from the sale will go to Relay for Life, which will be held June 19-20 at the Columbia Falls High School track.

Sports physical exams for students at Columbia Falls High School next fall will be given Monday, June 1 in the CFHS gymnasium from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $20 and checks should be payable to School District 6. Student athletes must have a physical to participate in School District 6 extracurricular sports during the 2009-10 school year. Parents are encouraged to accompany their student athletes/cheerleaders to help fill out the medical history questionnaire correctly and fully. Forms can be obtained in advance from CFHS Activities Director John Thompson.
