Weekend crash kills 2

Two Bigfork men were killed over the weekend in a single vehicle accident on Highway 209 between Bigfork and Ferndale.

Richard W. Fliehler, 56, and Mitchell A. Kopczyk, 50, were killed at the scene of the accident at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, when they were ejected from their vehicle, according to the Flathead County Sheriff's Office.

Kopczyk lost control of the vehicle he was driving as the car approached a slight curve and went off the road. Neither man was wearing a seat belt, according to the sheriff's office.

Bigfork Fire and Ambulance responded to the crash and the Montana Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation.
