Hill injured at PBR
With a chance to finish high at the Professional Bull Riders world finals in Las Vegas last week, Beau Hill of West Glacier completed an 88.5-point ride on Cajun Blast and tried crawling away from the animal.
But the bull stepped on his right arm, dislocating Hill's right shoulder. It took paramedics about six minutes to put Hill's arm back in place, but it will be at least two months, and perhaps six, before he'll be strong enough to rejoin the tour.
Hill will miss this week's Canadian Professional Rodeo finals in Edmonton, a PBR event in Atlanta the week after, and the PBR Canada finals on Dec. 4-5, which he had expected the enter with a points lead.
Hill will undergo an MRI examination on Thursday at North Valley Hospital in Whitefish. If doctors decide that Hill needs surgery, he'll be out six months.
"All I can do now is sit back and watch the next few weeks," Hill said, "and then try to get strong and get after it again."
Hill said he missed three to four months on the PBR tour several years ago after shattering bones in his ankle.
The injury to his right shoulder is his first.
