Klothes Kloset delivers again

Church Women United, their Klothes Kloset, volunteers and customers have done it again. This tiny business with little price tags showed an income of $52,815.54 during fiscal year concluded in November. Disbursements came to $28,178.80. It is located at the north end of Nucleus Avenue.
Bottom line is the $13,800 given to organizations during World Community Day. Event was held Friday at St. Richard's Catholic Church.Program was by ladies of All Saints Episcopal Church.
Expenses have increased with utilities amounting to $6,785.19, building insurance, $699.75; maintenance, $1,501.93, included.
Education scholarships totaling $1,600 are awarded the four churches in Church Women United. They are All Saints Episcopal, Our Savior's Lutheran, St. Richard's Catholic, and United Methodist churches.
Christmas Store receipts were $1,200. This was divided in $300 increments received by North Valley Senior Center; Flathead Youth home; new music for Columbia Falls Community Choir, Ron Bond, director; and Sheri Johnson, grief counseling. These funds are not included in checks given to organizations during World Community Day.
Kris Skyberg, Klothes Kloset manager, presented checks to 17 representatives of area organizations. Four groups did not send anyone to represent them. Six checks are mailed to out-of-area recipients. All contributions are approved by the CWU board.
List of representatives and money received follows:
$1,500 — Columbia Falls Volunteer Fire Department, Three Rivers Ambulance, and Eagle Transit.
$1,000 — Senior Citizens Center, Abby House, and Boys and Girls Club.
$500 — CASA, Nurturing Center, Columbia Falls Food Pantry, and Flathead Habitat for Humanity; Samaritan House, not represented.
$400 — Alert, not represented.
$300 — House of Hope. Community Kitchen, Special Olympics, not represented, Wings, not represented.
$200 — Lighthouse, Ray of Hope, Literacy program, Pastor Darrell Newby, missionary.
$100 — Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Annual assistance is provided to the following: Florence Crittenton Home, $500; Intermountain Children's Home, $300; Church World Service, $200; with $100 each earmarked for National CWU, State CWU, and Montana School for Deaf and Blind.
Church Women United officers are Betty Henneberg, president; Marion Fisher, vice president; Marion Andrew, secretary; Joan Smith and Irene Ladenburg, treasurers.
Christmas Store takes place Thursday, Dec. 3.
Klothes Kloset is open Tuesdays 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.
