D. William "Bill" Giroux

D. William "Bill" Giroux, 81, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, passed away Sept. 13, 2009 at the Nebraska Medical Center. He was born Sept. 18, 1927 in Columbia Falls to the late Joseph and Lillian (Kruger) Giroux. He attended elementary and high school in Columbia Falls where he played football and basketball. Bill was a mechanical engineer for Peter Kiewit & Sons and retired in 1986 after 39 years of employment.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brother Donald.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anna (Sternitzke); sons, Bruce Giroux, Guy and Lisa Giroux, Paul and Cathy Giroux, and Jim and Dori Giroux; brothers, Dick, who is Bill's twin, and Clayton and Sharon Giroux; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and a host of other family and friends.

Services were held at St. John Lutheran Church with internment at Ridgewood Cemetery.
