Whitefish JV wins in doubleheader
The Whitefish JV volleyball team defeated Corvallis and Hamilton in a doubleheader on Oct. 15.
Whitefish met Corvallis first in a quick three-game victory, 25-17, 25-23, 15-10. Taylor Havens led the team in 11 assists, one block and nine digs. Devan Skelton served hard for the Lady Bulldogs, racking up four of the team's 13 aces.
Hamilton showed strong competition, but Whitefish came away with the win in five games, 25-12, 20-25, 14-16, 15-10, 15-7. Whitefish came out strong in the first game, but Hamilton battled back the next game and fought hard throughout the match.
Whitefish played some of its best offense of the season, totaling 22 kills, led by Abby Strellnauer with nine. The team also served 18 aces, with Kelsey McFadden scoring 12 of them. Whitefish showed great improvement throughout the day and played hard to the last point.

Whitefish 3, Corvallis 0
The Bulldogs started out their doubleheader nicely with a convincing three-game win against the visiting Corvallis Blue Devils. Baylee Tveidt served tough with six of the team's 16 aces. Whitefish played with a lot of enthusiasm and confidence.
Whitefish 2, Hamilton 3
Whitefish ended up on the losing end of this battle against the Hamilton Broncs in the second game of their doubleheader. Hitting errors plagued the Bulldogs, but tough serving kept the team in the match.
The 'Dogs totaled 17 aces, led by seven from Lauren Cain. The season is winding down with only four matches remaining.
