Carolyn Louise Van

Carolyn Louise Van, 76, passed away Oct. 21, at her home in San Jose, Calif. She died peacefully with members of her family at her side.

Carolyn was born July 20, 1933, in Shelby, Iowa. Her parents were Hugo and Emma Ploen.

She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, George Ted; her son, Gregory Van, Valencia, Calif.; her daughter, Heidi Fallone, her son-in-law, Ed Fallone, and her grandchildren, Emma and Andrew Fallone, Whitefish Bay, Wis.

Carolyn attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, two years. She then joined United Airlines as a flight attendant. She was assigned to New York City where she met her husband, George. They made their home in Floral Park,N.Y., Sunnyvale, Calif., and Doylestown, Pa. For the past 19 years, they resided in San Jose, with a summer home in Kalispell.

Carolyn was active in the Philanthropic Educational Organization, First Presbyterian Church in Kalispell, the Villages Chapel in San Jose, and Pioneer Auto Club of Kalispell.

She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, hiking, Western art shows, and traveling.

Her memorial service will be held in San Jose at the Villages Club, Nov. 15. She will be interred at Conrad Memorial Cemetery, Kalispell, at a later date.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Villages Medical Auxiliary in San Jose.
