The Columbia Falls volleyball team had a rough time of it at the Missoula tourney Friday, going 0-14 in pool play.

The Kats lost to Butte 20-12, 20-13, CMR, 20-14, 20-10, Hellgate, 20-9, 20-16, Polson, 20-12, 20-13, Flathead, 20-18, 20-13, Helena, 20-10, 20-16, and Libby 20-3, 20-18.

All the teams except Polson and Libby are AA squads. The Kats also lost two matches in Saturday tournament play, but those scores weren't available. They did, however, win one game against Big Sky, said coach Addy Hines.

"We competed better against the AA schools," she said. The team played particularly well against Helena, which is one of the top AA schools in the state, but the Kats faltered against class A opponents.

"We've got to get mentally tough," she said, though she added she was pleased with the Kats progress, even if the scores didn't reflect it.

The Kats finish out conference play this week at home, with a match against Polson Thursday night and one against Libby Friday.

Both teams are tops in the conference.
