The Columbia Falls Lions Club meets at 6:30 a.m. on the first and third Thursdays each month at the Back Room, in the same building as the Nite Owl Restaurant. Contact a Lions Club member for information about joining the organization.

Farmer’s Market in Columbia Falls continues today (Thursday) at Glacier Discovery Square in Columbia Falls. Hours are 5 to 7:30 p.m. As many as 60 vendors will offer food, produce and arts and crafts. Tradewinds will be featured on the South Stage. They offer acoustic bluegrass and an eclectic mix for everyone.

Luke Austin S. performs his acoustic originals on the North Stage. Mike’s Conoco and Farm Hands are this week’s market sponsors.

Bingo at the North Valley Senior Citizens Center begins today (Thursday). Bingo will be played on the first and third Thursdays of each month, starting at 12:30 p.m. The first date is Sept. 3. For more information, contact Roxy at the senior center, 892-4087.

The Columbia Falls Area Chamber of Commerce resumes its monthly membership luncheon meeting schedule Tuesday, Sept. 8 at the North Valley Hospital Community Center, 235 Nucleus Ave. The meeting begins at 11:45 a.m. Columbia Falls School District 6 Superintendent Michael Nicosia will be the guest speaker. He will welcome and introduce the new teachers in the district who will be in attendance at the meeting. Cost of the luncheon is $10. Gratuity is included and reservations are not necessary. The next Chamber Business After Hours is Thursday, Sept. 17 at Melby’s Home Interiors from 5 to 7 p.m.

Cub Scout Recruitment Night is set for Tuesday, Sept. 8, beginning at 6 p.m. at Glacier Discovery Square in Columbia Falls. Cub Scouts is for boys grades 1-5, and youngsters in school in Columbia Falls, Deer Park, Hungry Horse, Martin City, Coram and West Glacier are invited to join. Parents can sign up their children for Cub Scouts, ask questions, get a calendar and talk to the kids’ leader.
