Upholding the Eagle's tradition
Letter from the editor
The Bigfork Eagle has served Bigfork, the Upper Swan Valley and the East Shore of Flathead Lake for more than 30 years - providing up-to-date news and sports coverage each week in the printed newspaper and more recently on our Web site.
As the Eagle’s new editor, I look to continue this tradition to the best of my ability. I seek to uphold the values that have kept this newspaper a viable part of the community all this time - accuracy, relevance, innovation and transparency.
I am committed to providing the Bigfork community with the most accurate information possible. Inevitably, there will be mistakes - I am only human.
I encourage readers and members of the community to be in dialogue with us. If a name is misspelled, if a headline seems misleading or if a story does not seem fair, I want to know. No publication or person is perfect. If we don’t know something is wrong, we can’t fix it.
I also will strive to provide relevant information that our readers both want and need to know. If you are curious about something or think our coverage is missing some topic or event, please let me know.
I welcome suggestions for covering topics and events in our community. Staff and time limitations may prevent us from covering every story, but we will do our best to cover as much as possible.
As with story ideas, I am also open to your ideas and suggestions for our services. We are always looking to improve, so please pass on any feedback ranging from new features for our Web site to new ways to deliver information to you.
I want to be open and accountable to you, our readers.
If you have questions about our policies or practices, feel free to ask. I am always willing to explain a decision or how we put together the newspaper and Web site.
If you have any questions or comments, let me know. Send an e-mail to editor@bigforkeagle.com.
