Della Mae Babcock

| April 8, 2010 11:00 PM

Della Mae Babcock, 88, of Kalispell, passed into eternity March 19, 2010, at the Heritage Place. She is survived by her sons and their wives, Howard and Dede Babcock of Monroe, Wash., and Bruce and Trisha Babcock of Kalispell; and daughter, Lynn Jacobsmeyer, and her husband, Wayne, of Columbia Falls. Della was blessed with nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Bernard Babcock, in July of 2009.

Della was born and raised in Twin Bridges, where she met and married the love of her life, Bernard.

In 1956, she moved with her family to Snohomish, Wash., and resided in that area for 47 years. In 2003 she and Bernard came back to their Montana roots, and spent the last seven years making many memorable memories with their family. Della's forte was being a homemaker and loving and caring for (and worrying about) her family.

She was a great comfort-food cook, loved music, especially big band; her favorite flowers were roses, and she loved a good joke. A memorial celebration of Della's life for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 9, at the North Valley Community Center in Columbia Falls. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to a local food bank; the American Cancer Society, 3550 Mullan Road, Missoula, MT 59808; or Wings, P.O. Box 7852, Kalispell, MT 59904.
