| April 29, 2010 11:00 PM

Brenda Kay (Hoerner) Blakney passed away peacefully at her sister's house in Columbia Falls, on April 17, 2010 after a short battle with cancer. She was met in heaven by her parents.

Brenda was born on Feb. 4, 1959 in Kalispell, to Cliff and Ida (Pixie) Hoerner.

She left behind her loving children and their spouses, Joshua and Angela Blakney of Kalispell and Beth and Chuck Taylor of Minot, N.D., her grandchildren Madison, A.J., Tristen, Gaige, Maddox and Magic. Her brothers and sisters Sharon, Dennis, Cindy, Darryl, her twin brother Bart and baby brother Cliffy Jay. Also left behind are numerous nephews and nieces, too many to name, and many great nieces and nephews.

She was a great mom and wonderful person. She was a very hard worker with a great work ethic that she passed onto her children. She was always a child at heart and loved to play with children, most of the time when the adults were visiting and the kids were playing she chose to play with the children. She had a wonderful zest for life and loved doing things with her family whether it be taking homemade chicken noodle soup to her children when they were sick, whether they were two years old or 30 years old, or just playing on the slip 'n slide with kids of all ages. She taught us all how to stay children at heart and to be very loving and caring. No matter what anyone ever did she was always willing to forgive. From your loving family we know you will always be with us and we will always love you.

A celebration of her life was Saturday, April 24, 2010 at the LaSalle Grange Hall.

Columbia Mortuary in Columbia Falls is caring for the family.
