Keep kids warm; donate coats
To the community:
Our local bank has a coat drive for children for coats. This is great. I hope they get a lot of coats and mittens for the children.
I know three teenage boys (brothers) who do not have winter coats or boots. They are great boys and work hard. I plan to get them winter coats one way or another. I had to figure out that they flat out didn’t own decent winter coats when they showed up in light weight jackets two sizes too small when I threatened their hides if I saw them out again without coats. (Before they would wear three-four shirts) I could use your help since I am not working right now, and do not know when I will be able to return to work. But these kids are cold now.
I have no idea how many other high school kids are going to school without jackets or boots but if their bus broke down these kids would freeze. We need to look out for our big kids too!
Parents, if your kids have coats please make sure they are wearing them, yes even if they are 18 years old, tell them to take their coat ... and boots. It is survival gear in this type of weather for those of you who haven’t weathered one of these winters! Insist. If your children don’t have coats, they are more important than video games or whatever, get them a winter coat because the cold weather hasn’t started this year!
If you can help me with this getting coats for kids who don’t have them, call 250-5887 as soon as possible. Any extra funds received will go to help other big kids that need coats and boots!
