Luella Mae (Flint) McFadden

Luella Mae (Flint) McFadden, passed away peacefully at her home in Columbia Falls on Dec. 26, 2010.

She was born in Whitefish on Dec. 30, 1929, to Roy and Sadie Flint. She attended the Hot Springs School for her first year, then went to Whitefish School until her sophomore year then finished out her school at Columbia Falls when she graduated in 1948.

She worked for the phone company as an operator until she married Leroy McFadden on July 6, 1949. They lived a couple of different places out of state before returning back to Montana where she could be close to her mother, who was her best friend and confidant. She drove school bus for nine years while her youngest son was going to school, a job she thoroughly enjoyed. She touched the lives of everyone she knew.

She was member of the Mountain View Rebekka Lodge #78 in Whitefish and Rebekka Assembly of Montana for more than 60 years, and was a member of the Women of the Moose (WOTM) for the past 15 years. She was baptized and a member of the North Valley Seventh Day Adventist Church most of her life.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Sadie Flint. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leroy McFadden; son Roger McFadden (Kathy); daughter Janet McFadden; son Leroy McFadden (Mitzi), all of Columbia Falls; brothers, Dean, Raleigh Flint (Sue), of Tennessee, Robert Flint (Rose) of Idaho; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will held later in the spring so that family members out of state will be able to attend.

Memorials suggested would be to the WOTM in Whitefish or to the Montana Hope Project.
