The Columbia Falls wrestling team finished its regular season with a 54-19 win over a Whitefish squad that didn't put very many wrestlers on the mat.

The Bulldogs gave up four forfeits and Kohl Thompson, Cody Hader, Billy Gross, Jacob Babcock and Kelly Houle all had pins for the Cats.

"We wrestled how we expected," said coach Jessie Schaeffer. Heavyweight Kelly Houle has a shot at besting the school's pin record with 32. He needs five more pins, which means he'd have to pin all his opponents at state and divisionals, Schaeffer said.

The Cats will now look to make their mark at the divisional tourney in Polson this weekend. Schaeffer said he hopes the team will take 10 wrestlers to state.

The top four in each weight class earn a berth.

The championship round begins at 5 p.m.
