This spring voters will have to choose between three candidates for the two open seats on the Lakeside Community Council.

Lakeside residents Robert Berreth, David Fetveit and Gene Shellerud all filed paperwork with the Flathead County Election Department to compete for the two three-year positions on the council. The deadline to file to run for the May 4 election was Feb. 18.

Berreth is currently a member of the Lakeside Neighborhood Plan Committee and founded Great Northern Mortgage, LLC. Fetveit is a real estate agent with Trails West Real Estate. Shellerud is also a real estate agent but with Windermere Real Estate.

As members of the council, they will represent the community of Lakeside by acting in an advisory role to the county's decision-making boards. The council meets on the last Tuesday of every month, usually at 7 p.m. in the Lakeside Sewer District Building.

The seats are currently held by Gregg Schoh and Janet Heinze and neither filed for re-election.
