Setting out resolutions for 2010
Letter from the editor
As we put out the first issue of 2010, I'd like to share with you a few of our New Year's resolutions here at the Bigfork Eagle.
In 2010, our goal is to continue to ensure accuracy, excellence and fairness in our stories and photographs as well as in our coverage both online and in print.
We want to provide you with that coverage throughout the week, so you'll also notice some highlights on A2 of what you'll find online at bigforkeagle.com. Be sure to stop by the site for updates.
We also hope to roll out some new features and ways to connect with you online throughout the coming months.
Also on A2, we'll let you know how to get us news tips in case you have an idea for a story we might be missing. We want to be open to your ideas and suggestions.
This year we want to continue to serve as your community newspaper, which is why we are going to encourage those in the community who are celebrating a wedding, anniversary or 50th birthday to let us know about it. You can share the news about your important life events with your neighbors and friends by submitting your announcements to the Eagle by noon on Mondays.
In the coming year, we want to maintain the relationship we have with all of you in the Bigfork community by being transparent and owning up to our mistakes when we make them.
One of the ways we will do this is by providing a consistent spot that you can look if there are corrections or clarifications. You'll see that on page A2 as well.
Also in 2010, I hope to continue to use this column to keep you up to date on our plans for the future and our coverage.
In planning for this year, we'd like to know what you want to see from us.
Share your thoughts by e-mailing editor@bigforkeagle.com or calling the office at 837-5131.
Here's to a great 2010.
