Sheila Rae Isbell

Sheila Rae Isbell, 50, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010, at her home in Columbia Falls.

She was born on June 25, 1959, in Vinton, Iowa, to Merle and Evelyn (McIntyre) Roths.

Sheila received her early education in Vinton. She married John "Dave" Isbell in Vinton on Dec. 24, 1984. The couple eventually moved to the Flathead Valley, where Sheila worked as a machine operator at Top Copy Printing in Whitefish. She also operated her own business of House Cleaning and Reflexology.

Sheila loved her husband, her dogs, the outdoors and just being your friend.

She was preceded in death by her brother Bruce Roths.

She is survived by her husband; step-son Justin; her parents; and twin brother Mike Roths, of Stevensville.

Memorial services took place June 2, 2010, at Jesus Community Church in Stevensville, with Pastor Kelley McCormick officiating.

Audrey Cripe

Audrey Cripe, beloved mother and grandmother was united with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 11, 2010.

The daughter of Roy and Matilda Cripe, Audrey was born March 25, 1920, in Whitefish. A graduate of Whitefish High School, Class of 1938, she received her bachelor's in nursing from the University of Portland in 1943.

Audrey had an exciting and fulfilling career as a registered nurse lasting over 50 years. She served as a captain in the Army Nurse Corps and was stationed in Germany and France. She also worked as a civilian elementary school nurse for the Department of Defense in Germany and Japan.

Audrey believed that a life well lived was one of service to others. She lived her life tirelessly giving to others, including her family, friends, patients, church and community.

She served as nurse coordinator for the Flathead City-County Health Department from 1975-1980. During her tenure, she secured funding for and implemented a number of social service and health programs to aid children, women, elderly and the poor.

Audrey took great interest and pride in her community and served on a number of boards and committees in Flathead County, including the Economic Development Board and the Flathead Valley Community College Human Services Board.

She was an active member of the St. Charles Catholic Parish in Whitefish and later was a member of Holy Rosary Parish in Billings.

She traveled extensively in Europe and Asia. She found beauty and solace in nature and loved the companionship provided by animals. She was especially fond of anything having to do with her beloved Whitefish and Flathead Valley.

Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, brother Charles Cripe and sister June Cripe Harper.

Survivors include her daughter Anne Gonzalez Lewis and husband Ted; granddaughter Grace Brekhus; great grandson Kai Brekhus; sister-in-law Joan Cripe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
