A motorcyclist was killed in U.S. Highway 2 at the intersection of Wishart Road just north of the Glacier Park International Airport Thursday (June 24) morning.

The wreck happened about 10:20 a.m. when a car entering the highway from southbound Wishart Road failed to see the northbound cyclist and the two struck nearly head on.

The motorcyclist was dead at the scene. A witness said the driver of the car did not appear to be seriously injured, though the vehicle looked totaled.

The accident is under investigation by Montana Highway Patrol.

Columbia Falls firefighters and Three Rivers Ambulance responded to the scene. The motorcyclists names has not yet been released.

More details will appear in the print edition of the Hungry Horse News.
