Local J3 skiers race at Mt. Bachelor

Three members of the Whitefish Mountain Resort Ski Team traveled to Mt. Bachelor Ski Resort, in Oregon, for the 2010 Western Region Junior Championship on March 18-21.

The event is the culmination of the winter season for junior alpine skiers in the J3 division.

Only 10 boys and 7 girls from Montana qualified for this event, and they tested their skills against tough rivals from the entire Western Region, including California, Oregon, Alaska and Utah.

The five-day race schedule included Super-G training and races in Super-G, giant slalom and slalom.

Anna Jobe took eighth in the giant slalom and 19th in the slalom.

Erin Tabish took 24th place in the slalom. Nevada Kramer finished close to his toughest competitors in the division in the Super-G.
