The ever-changing weather has been a source of safety concerns for local residents.

Monday's wind storm wreaked havoc on the area, particularly near Echo Lake, where Andrew and Rosemary Kovatch's home was crushed by a large pine tree. One observer said the area looked like a war zone.

Though some may expect to be free of weather-related concerns now that May is upon us, the Valley's fickle weather patterns mean residents still need to keep an eye out and exercise caution. As Andrew Kovatch found this week, a few seconds, if you aren't alert, could easily change your life.
