In both school board elections affecting Lakeside and Somers, votes went in favor of new blood.

For the high school seat on the Kalispell School Board representing Somers, Lakeside and Kila, Rob Keller unseated incumbent Jean Barragan with 373 votes to 319 votes. Keller will serve for a three-year term.

Five candidates ran for the two open three-year seats on the Somers-Lakeside School Board. Tim Rogge and Courtney Shaeffer will take those seats after earning the highest vote totals of 230 and 192 votes respectively. They unseat incumbent Lori Moran who has the next highest vote total with 187. Todd Ahern, who held the other seat, did not run for re-election. Candidate Scott Harrison had 162 votes and Tim Murphy had 144.

The new trustees for the Somers-Lakeside board will be sworn in during a special meeting Thursday, May 6, at 6 p.m.
