Letter from the editor: Plenty of thanks to give this week
Despite the frigid temperatures and piles of snow, Bigfork residents have a lot to be thankful for these days, especially for the abundance of community pride shared throughout the past week.
The high school football team garnered state-wide acclaim after winning its first Class B championship game Saturday. Residents of all backgrounds and ages expressed support and solidarity leading up to and on game day from providing meals to the team and getting their businesses’ windows painted to attending the game and cheering loudly in spite of the freezing weather.
That same sense of town pride brought out hundreds of volunteers to deck out the Village for the holiday season early Saturday morning.
Even further evidence of this spirit was displayed through the amount of people who gave generously to the Bigfork Food Pantry, which received more than 3,000 pounds of food by Friday from a number of local drives last week to help residents in need.
Of all the things to give thanks for Thursday, our town's sense of community, and the people who make it so, should be near the top of the list.
