Doing the same thing over
Hear ye, hear ye, citizens of the Flathead. There are level-headed, clear-thinking individuals among you who refuse to be influenced by the ominous prognostications of attention-seeking radio-show hosts and other political pundits who seem to think that this mid-term election will be problematic for progressive candidates.
These voters understand whose policies and lack of attention to necessary regulation caused our country to reach the very brink of a major depression. They recognize the fact that it took many years of these misguided policies before Americans realized the need to change course, and they understand that the correction measures that have been enacted will need reasonable time to effectively bring us back to an acceptable economic performance level.
Unfortunately, the citizens of whom I speak are focused on routine daily activities that contribute to their economic survival, and they rarely have time to participate in organized events which allow them to promote their views.
The forthcoming election will no doubt result in sending certain incumbents home, but the efforts of those representatives who have taken appropriate actions to correct problems will be rewarded.
As you make preparations to go to the polls, you will hopefully consider what Albert Einstein once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results,” and then carefully make your choices.
