Julie Singer

| October 7, 2010 11:54 AM

Julie Ann Singer, 47, of Olathe, Kan., lost a brave battle against cancer on Sept. 6, 2010, at the University of Kansas Medical Center.

Julie was born May 14, 1963, in Portland, Ore., to Donald and Janis Singer. As a young child, Julie lived on a farm in Beaverton, Ore., and loved playing outside with the animals and in the woods.

In her middle elementary years, she moved with her family to Whitefish. She competed on the Big Mountain Ski Team in junior high and enjoyed playing basketball as well. She loved swimming at Whitefish City Beach and spending time with family or friends picking huckleberries, camping or hanging out at Gordy’s Drive In.

At the age of 25, she moved to Kansas. She greatly enjoyed everything about the Kansas City Jayhawks. She truly loved watching her son play sports including football and baseball, playing cards and traveling and being with family and friends. We will miss her sense of humor and beautiful smile.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Singer.

Julie is survived by her loving son Grant Ramirez and her partner Vicki Goth, both of Olathe, Kan.; her mother Janis Singer, of Kalispell; and sisters Suzanne Alvarez, of Kenai, Alaska, Angilee Justen, of Salem, Ore., and Brenda Roskos, of Kalispell.

A memorial fund has been established in her name for her son Grant at First National Bank of Olathe, 15084 South Black Bob Rd., Olathe KS 66062.
