Vote Brenneman out

| October 12, 2010 9:12 AM

To the editor,

Reject Joe Brenneman and his assault on property owners over the last five-and-a-half years.

Let’s take a walk through history and list a few of the assaults Brenneman has launched on property owners along with his Las Vegas Planner.

One, they tried to force the East Valley Neighborhood Plan on more than 40,000 acres of land and thousands of land owners who did not want it.

Two, they tried to force a Neighborhood Plan on thousands of property owners in Evergreen that no one in Evergreen wanted except Brenneman, Harris and a bus driver.

Three, Brenneman disenfranchised thousands of property owners in the Whitefish doughnut area and to this day is still trying to keep them in the clutches of the City of Whitefish.

Four, Brenneman launched an all-out assault on Family Transfers, trying to stop families from passing property to their children or parents.

Five, Brenneman gutted all meaningful property rights provisions out of the 2007 Growth Policy.

Six, Brenneman has gotten us into lawsuit after lawsuit on land issues, costing us tax payers millions and millions of dollars.

Seven, Brenneman has wasted tax payers dollars on expensive worthless studies like the recent transportation plan that was rejected unanimously by the Road Advisory Committee and the Flathead County Planning Board.

Eight, Brenneman has worked tirelessly to place more and more regulations and restrictions on property owners in order to appease his green supporters like Citizens for a Better Flathead.

Nine, Brenneman ballooned the planning office budget by hiring more and more planners to place more and more restrictions on property owners.

In November of this year, you have a chance to reject Joe Brenneman and allow all of us who believe in individual property rights to wake up from this terrible five-and-a-half-year nightmare. Please reject Joe Brenneman, he is a threat to you and your right to own, control and  possess your own property.
