The Columbia Falls golf teams hosted conference foes Polson and Libby Tuesday at Meadow Lake Golf Resort. The difficult Par-72 lay out provided plenty of challenge for all of the competitors with the Polson teams coming out on top on both sides of the tournament.

Polson's Cody Fisher took medallist honors shooting a 79 while helping his team to a team total of 342. Wildcat junior Parker Johnson tied for third overall with an 88 followed by Jordan Mueller's 92, Nick Emerson's 99 and Brian Marcille's 100. The Cats team score of 379 was good for second followed by Libby at 447.

"We thought our boys would be a little closer to Polson playing on our home course," said Columbia Falls coach Gene Marcille. "We've been working hard at practice, and we're still pretty excited about our chances to earn a trip to the state tournament."

Meanwhile, the Wildkats dueled the Lady Pirates with the Lady Pirates showing why they are one of the top Class "A" teams in the state by posting a team score of 421. Polson's Amy Williamson shot 95 allowing her to run away from the field. Columbia Falls posted a team score of 493 with Michelle Hagen shooting 120, Morgan Love 122, Nika Geratova 124, and Courtney Tamburelli 127. Maggie Panasuk and McKenna Emmerich also competed for the Kats. Libby did not field a girls' team.

Columbia Falls competes in Libby next Friday for the last regular season tournament followed by the divisional tournament Sept. 25 in Ronan.
